How to Apply?
Take a look how to get started on your American summer adventure
01 Free application form
The first step is to complete our free online application form. There are no application fees and no costs associated with your interview.
Take your time when completing your application. This is your opportunity to stand out and show us what makes you unique, so don’t be afraid to let your personality shine!
Tell us about your hobbies, interests, skills, experience and, most importantly, your experience working with or caring for children. The more we get to know about you, the better we can understand why you could be a great fit.
02 Meet Our Recruitment Team
Once you’ve submitted your application, a member of our recruitment team will be in touch to arrange an informal interview.
This is your chance for us to get to know the person behind the application. We want to hear about your skills, interests, experience and personality — including all those little quirks that make you uniquely you! Getting to know you properly helps us understand what type of role and camp environment will be the best fit for you.
To help you put your best foot forward and really impress our camp directors, we may also set you a little homework after your interview. This could be anything from gaining a new certification to adding a little more detail to your application.
Whatever we ask, it’s all designed to strengthen your application and give you the best possible chance of landing the role you’re dreaming of.
03 Secure Your Place & Begin Your Visa Process
If you’re accepted onto the programme, we’ll ask you to make an initial Proof of Intent payment to secure your place. This payment is deducted from your total programme fees.
You’ll then move on to the next stage of your application, completing the required forms and submitting the documents needed to begin your J-1 visa process.
Once everything has been submitted, our team will review your application again. We want to make sure you’re putting forward the strongest possible application and giving camp directors the best impression of your skills, experience and personality.
Once your application is ready to be presented to camps, you’ll pay the remaining programme fees. We offer flexible instalment options to make payments easier to manage.
Your programme fees cover the cost of your J-1 sponsorship, medical insurance and 24-hour support throughout the summer, giving you peace of mind from the moment you start your journey with us.
04 Let’s find you the right camp!
Now for the exciting part — it’s time to meet the camps!
Based on your application, experience, skills and interests, we’ll match you with a camp that we think could be a great fit for you.
You’ll then have the opportunity to meet the camp owners or directors, usually through a video interview. It’s your chance to ask questions, learn more about the camp and show them what you could bring to their team.
If you both feel that it’s the right match, you’ll be offered a contract and officially have your summer camp placement! 🎉
We also regularly host online camp fairs, and we strongly encourage you to attend. They’re a fantastic opportunity to meet a range of camp owners, directors and team members, explore different camps and discover the opportunities available to you.
05 We are here for every step
Once we have all your supporting documents, we’ll take care of the J-1 visa application process and provide you with the official visa paperwork you’ll need.
You’ll then need to attend an appointment at the US Embassy for your visa interview. You’ll book this appointment yourself, but don’t worry — Wild Packs will provide you with clear, step-by-step guidance to make the process as easy as possible.
Your camp will also send you all the important details you need for your journey, including which airport to fly into and your arrival date. This means that once everything is confirmed, booking your flights should be nice and simple.
We know you’ll be excited to get your flights booked as soon as possible, but we strongly recommend waiting until after your US Embassy visa interview before booking any flights. It’s always better to be safe than sorry!
